Yeah - Nice touch mate.

The final was a two-legged affair, first at Pinksville, then (I think) a week later at the Shrine.

Beating S*****d wasn't as uncommon then as it is now, but it was still summat special!

West Wales away in the Cup!

Couldn't have been much worse than that! 😣

Spelly.

I wonder if Gavin Henson will be playing for his once a season cup game??

I don't know about that mate, but there might be no fans there, as the "behind closed doors" rule was extended yesterday for a further two weeks.

The game is still three weeks away, so fingers crossed!

Two pre-season friendlies for us.

We're at the Pinks a week today, then host 'Haven  tomorrow fortnight.

Tickets booked for both, even though I'll be on duty (prob stewarding) at Heywood Road.

The AJ Bell is a double header, as their ladies and the Lionesses go head to head, prior to the men's clash.

Pinks 48-12 Lions at a cold Ding Dong Bell this aft.

As previously when asked for a prediction prior to a game like this, my answer has been "Keep 'em below 50, and score a try."

Well we did, and scored two as well!

We bossed the first ten minutes, but couldn't break their line, then in their first real attack, they scored, registering another two before we had ball in hand again, and it was 26-0 at the interval.

We scored first after the break, but they responded immediately, and a similar scenario would describe the next two touchdowns.

It's not difficult to spot the differences between FT and PT footballers, as they were quicker than us in all aspects. Their lads won't be getting up at 7.00am on Monday morning to go to work.

What (if anything) either coach learned from the eighty minutes, apart from blowing off the cobwebs, and putting a (very) few quid in the till, is debatable, but at least the season is underway.

Will today be our / my last visit to Barton? Won't miss it one bit, if it was.

We host 'Haven a week tomorrow in our second friendly, then in a fortnight, it's West Wales away in the Cup, with the good news being that it won't be behind closed doors, as Wales' restrictions on crowd numbers were eased from today, and will cease from next week.

Just as a starter (more info to follow) this year's walk for Blood Cancer, and the MNDA, will be prior to our game with 'Ornits, come June, but.................

I've opened an account for it already, so if you want to make a donation before the event, you're more than welcome, and the bank details are below.

Thank you in advance.

Did we create a first yesterday? Perhaps!

I know that there are many occasions (more than one or two at Swinton) where father and son have played for the same club, but.......

Has father and daughter happened before?

Simon (Sticks) Ashcroft scored a shed-load of tries for us, and Eve, his offspring, was in the Lionesses' line-up in the curtain-raiser to Pinks v Lions 24 hours ago.

I accept totally that it's not first team, and first team, but it'd be interesting if this scenario has arisen previously.

Any ideas please?

Thank you.

What name is the account holder, spelly, and I'll put a few bob in.

My dear wife died of AML some 2 1/2 yrs ago, and whilst I personally support the research carried out by Blood Cancer Ltd as much as I can I'll always find a few bob to help anyone else supporting them.

It's in my name mate. John Spellman, and the first £20 went in yesterday.

I've had to do it like that, coz..............

Just Giving wouldn't allow me to "split" monies, and as this effort (as ever) is 50/50 for Blood Cancer, and the MNDA, it was unavoidable.

Thank you in advance.
