SL play offs

So, Salford have engineered themselves game against Hudds, I think they'll beat them.

Cats will beat Leeds (probs).

That would mean Saints v Salford, Wigan v Cats.

I can't see anything other than a Saints Wigan final, what does everyone else think?

Pound on Wigan!!!

Saints v Pies for me too.

Hope Watto does the biz against the Pinks this weekend. Biased moi?

Can see Leeds winning over there, coz of their play-off nous.

Basically though, not bothered who gets to OT, as long as it's not the Pinks! Biased moi encore?

Spelly.

Does anyone else fancy Salford to do Saints?

@sandgroper real shame that, they could have done some damage there. Salford's half-backs are the best in the comp. Who knows?

Yes Croft playing makes it interesting so it's a shame he's out, I do think Saints aren't at full potential at the minute and Salford and Leeds are probably the two form teams in the league.  2 interesting games ahead.

Oh well, scratch Wigan. Leeds deserved that. Shame for Sezer missing next week.

Although Spelly will be pleased, Salford were not given a fair crack by the referee.

A clear penalty try was denied to the Red Devils, and so despite St Helen’s being a better team overall, it’s another example it’s of “poor officiating rules, OK”.

1) Of course I am! I can now go to OT next week, soak up the atmosphere, proudly wearing my Swinton shirt, enjoy myself, and not be bothered by the outcome! I couldn't have done so had the Pinks been there!

2) Clear? I'd say no, but I'm biased aren't I? Should he have sent it "upstairs" for a review? Probably, but it won't keep me awake!

For any of you going next week, there's no tram service from Eccles, due to engineering work, but there are replacement buses.

Prediction? Saints' pack is defo weaker without Walmsley, and Knowles could be in hot water, meaning he too could be a spectator, so..................

I'm going for the Rhinos by eight, but..................

I'll be having my usual bet of a draw at eighty minutes.

Bring it on!

I thought there was a strong case for a penalty try. At the very least, it should have been referred upstairs, I was amazed it wasn't. Poor call by the ref.

Would expect that Knowles will get banned, given the other bannings gone on lately.

@spelly I have thought that Knowles amazingly gets away with a lot of illegal play for months.  Wigan used to be the side that bent the rules & got away with dangerous play. However IMO Saints at the moment appear to have taken over from them as the worst offenders. I also thought a penalty try should have been given to Salford. There is no doubt that poor officiating is affecting the outcome of games throughout all three divisions of RL in the UK.

I think it should have been a penalty try, but was the ref correct in saying that he couldn’t sim bin a player and give a penalty try?

if they’d had the choice I’m sure Salford would have gone for the try and play against 13 players for 8 minutes just 1 point behind.
