Sam Wilde signed for Newcastle Thunder. That agent must be earning his commission by moving on players who were with Ottawa.
Wilde is a decent player and wonder if we tried to sign him.
Newcastle seem to be building a decent squad. Suspect that they will be in the Championship next year and heading for SL. This is the expansion into the North East and other parts of the country that RFL should be promoting, not a transatlantic expansion illusion.
I hope that Newcastle can be successful and increase their fan base in the North East and are not just another Gateshead. This may then encourage other clubs in the UK outside the traditional RL areas, to embrace and promote rugby league in the future.
The Championship is looking a very competitive league for 2021 with several clubs vying for promotion. This can only be a good thing for rugby league. Just a pity that the RFL/SL don't seem to feel the same and are only interested in the 12 cubs in SL.

Agree that the Championship could be quite hectic next year.
I still wonder whether BT would be interested in televising selected games from that without SL! It wouldn't need to be a big deal in TV terms, to give the Championship teams a better share-out than they might be getting from the 'SL' deal.

Never rated him, he’s decent but lacks aggression, size and consistently.
Newcastle will probably come up, but let's face it, they do have Denis at the helm so I wouldn't be quaking in my boots just yet.....
I will be happier when we have signed at least a couple more forwards and escaped poachers for our contracted squad!
We need to get the pre-season started to establish a new team spirit. Fitness will be essential next year, there will be a few hard games to weather and fitness aids recovery if its needed.
