The determination of some clubs not returning attendance figures makes me think of an opening for creative accountancy when IMG sums are done!
Many are the chosen team of financial wizards who are funding the team and will be well acquainted with making silk purses from sows ears!!!
But the circumspect RFL will no doubt have it all in hand, so we can rest easy!!
You would hope that IMG have checks in place to verify claimed attendances and financial returns, but it seems that Salford's critical financial position was missed or overlooked, Probably accepted empty promises of imminent investment.
It should also be a strict rule that any club found to have provided false data to support their bid, would face a large fine, an immediate points deduction and potential relegation.
