Who would you pick as the New England coach, from the 5 person shortlist?

Sam Burgess

Brian Mc Dermot

Steve McNamara

Going to decide over the weekend and announce the result early next week.

I objected strongly when Messrs Waite, Smith, and Bennett were given the best job on the planet, so a big "NO!" from me for Arthur! Why? Well......................

I accept that it's happened multiple times over multiple nations, both in RL, and across the sporting arena in the past, but in my opinion, if you're not qualified to play for a team, you're not qualified to coach 'em! So that 101% rules out the Rhino! Blinkered comment? Perhaps! Honest comment? Absolutely!

Of the other four, any of 'em will get my full backing, providing they (unlike their predecessor) select players on form, and not on reputation! But.................

As I've said many times, if the RFL would care to give me a call, I'll do it for nowt!

Spelly.

Brad Arthur as he’s a better footballer coach than all the others put together. Whilst we haven’t beaten Australia in a series for an out a thousand years I can’t see that changing but he would probably reduce the gap in terms of ‘points lost by’.

Not doubting his coaching qualities for a moment, and his man management skills must be the tops, as Jake Connor's game (and behaviour) has improved hugely since they both arrived at Headingley, but.........

I just can't (and I know it's happened umpteen times) get it through my head, how anyone can motivate themselves against their own nation! So I must, as with Waite, Smith, and Bennett, strongly oppose Arthur being in the mix!

Arthur or McDermott for me. People have an extremely negative perception of McDermott but he is one of the most successful English coaches.

He is also earning a very good reputation in Australia as an assistant coach. I would lean towards Arthur but McDermott would be a good choice.
