Hughes has backed & funded London Broncos for the last 20 years but will ealk awsy at this season's end. He is appealing for a new backer. If they do not get one may struggle with theur gates. However I am not sure what parachute payment they will get

 Does anyone know?

Reading the NewsNow item the income from Sky has halved with several clubs now losing money. The marketability of the game is slipping with  IMG struggling to find evidence that the game is expanding.

The explosion of off field as well as on field staff that came with SL will have to be set back a bit at least, with even the SL clubs lacking a sugar daddy possibly going under. Not this year maybe but savings will have to be made.

This, I suggest, makes our club's efforts look much more realistic and sensible.

Maybe SL will have to look at revising its make up as a part time sport to some degree concentrating on self financing through support.

For once, I feel genuinely sorry for London Broncos.

After years of receiving special treatment (at the expense of others), they eventually managed to achieve promotion the correct way by winning the play-off game, only to then see their hopes and ambitions dashed before a ball had even being kicked!

And all because of IMG.

As a direct consequence, their owner (quite rightly in my opinion) has decided enough is enough and is looking to sell up.

This could well mean the end of London Broncos, who after years of being told that the sport MUST have a presence in the Capital, are now being served up as sacrificial lambs.

When Sky came along, the sport lost a generation of clubs and supporters when everyone was told there had to be a London presence. Yet, when they do eventually get there by the correct method, suddenly have the rug pulled from beneath them by some external body who I guess have no love or knowledge of the sport, nor of its history.

Can there be a Sports governing body who are so inept?

agree with what you say, but London should surely score more than others (cas, wakey) on the a realistic IMG system

but seems not

No way they are nomads without a ground they have had all the chances and exemptions this time they haven't and rightly so. They finished bottom so they don't  deserve SL status. As for putting the club up for sale what assets have they got ?
