Seems like a little bit of history being rewritten there SG, the abuse and vitriol directed towards Lewis on the old TIW forum was pretty disgusting.
Indeed it was but he had the sport as a sport in mind rather than having partisan interest.
SOC recognised that and we cashed in by playing his game, using the NRC as our aim.

He knew nothing about the games, clubs or ans and by introducing a points based system for the top division and banishing promotion and relegation was doing it to protect the big clubs and damage the lower leagues. Remind you of anyone?

The IMG gradings are out tomorrow but rl now are saying Wakefield have made grade A! That means they cannot be relegated. What a joke. I know they have spent money on the ground but but it is still far from perfect. Bradford's ground is awful & not even a regulation size pitch but I suspect they will be above us in the ratings as will Toulouse. I doubt we will rise above last years 16th place.
If possible the Championship & League 1 clubs should breakaway but pointless without TV coverage. I cannot see this happening as none of the clubs have enough financial backing & business know how with many already struggling.
Its not hypocritical to play by the agreed rules! Or are you happy to pay by your rules even though everyone else plays to another set?
@sandgroper I'd say it's hypocritical to say it was fine for Lewis system because we were on the right side of the fence, but against the latest system because we're not.
agree with you there, it’s reported cas have an A grade too - which surprises me even more. I suspect hudds could be the fall guys here as their attendances and proportion of stadium capacity used are poor, it’s strange you get penalised for having a good stadium - batley will score high as a percentage of their ground used.
we have no chance of getting in with these parameters - we would probably need crowds of 6000 to even put us level, but would take years to improve league position, I think even if we won the championship and playoffs for 2 years we would still fall short.
the whole system is a stitch up by the top SL sides - never to be relegated so can put out a crap team (hull) with no adverse effect.
we need to enjoy our seasons in the championship and make sure we compete.
the system will change again in 3 years
