Times are hard 🤷♂️
Why do you find it funny??
Because spouting you should be in super league when you don't have enough fans to run a championship club isn't about the fans they should cut there cloth like the rest of us !! Nobody made them make those signings it's stupid if the club can't afford it !!
Featherstone will not attract extra support & never have with Wakefield & Castleford being so close & while they are in SL. Non die hard fans will always choose the perceived "more quality" league over a lower division. I have little sympathy for clubs overspending on a squad they cannot hope to pay for.
Featherstone have always been limited for support with a population of 16000,it's nothing new.Not sure why he's surprised. As said by Geoff, don't make signings you'll struggle to pay for,as we know only too well.
@sinbad We did not make signings we could not afford. Our CEO & directors allegedly taking over the top payments for themselves being our problem.
Sigh. I've read posts in forumland stating that it's a boom-or-bust year for Fev every year going back to 2010.
I think some people have misunderstood what Mark Campbell has said. At no point has he said he has made signings the club can't afford, because attendances aren't Fev's main revenue stream. I think he just wishes his own efforts were matched by better support.
It wouldn't surprise me if he took a step back from the club next year if Fev don't get promoted, because he's not getting any younger and has grandkids on the way, and it may be that Fev's spending power will decrease, though a lot of the club's revenue streams are related to the ground and sponsorship (£350k in commercial sponsorship this year) and therefore sustainable.
@lord-lucan What's so bad about Rovers attendances compared to previous years ? They've had roughly 3800,2200 and 2400 for their first three home games giving an average of 2800 so far, with little away support. That's good going for a small town club. And fans can go where they like for a pre game pint.

Yeah I agree with you there. Newcastle and Whitehaven are a hard sell to be honest especially with the cost-of-living crisis in an area which isn't exactly affluent. The atmosphere has been really flat too, with no opposition fans to "bounce off" and not really a competitive game the singing, chantin etc seems to die down.
I'm sure there will be a decent crowd and a good atmosphere for the Bradford game on Monday though.
Mark's just a bit frustrated and venting, he's done it before on that page. He has put his heart and soul into the club (like many chairmen of course) and gets disappointed when fans don't seem to have the dedication he does.
To be fair to Featherstone, owning their ground is a plus, renting off the Council has had it's drawbacks for us.
Us, Bradford and Featherstone are the best supported teams in the League that being said.
4000 + on Monday night, that's pretty good going in my view.Rovers have over taken Widnes now in terms of support. We used to draw at least 350 more than they did for home games.Problem for Rovers though is there will always be a maximum limit to draw crowds from their small population and surrounded by Cas and Wakefield. They may already be at maximum now but 4000 crowds in SL won't get them very far. That's Campbell's concern.

Official attendance confirmed as 4,809. Worth emphasising that although Mark Campbell expressed his disappointment with the crowds for the two previous games, attendances aren't as important in terms of income streams to Fev as they are to many other clubs.
