Spelly, If the 15-aside lot can manage to have neutrals for their internationals, then surely we can?

Yeah mate, but they've got six nations to choose from just in the Northern Hemisphere. So it could be (say) a Welsh ref for Italy v England, which I would suggest that makes selecting a neutral ref a lot easier. Or am I being too simplistic?
But if it is (say) Kendall, or Klein, I'm sure they will be unbiased, coz...............
As I've mentioned it on here many times, I have a mate, who's both a qualified ref, and a Swinton fan, and he says that he can " ---- just see two teams -----" when he has the whistle, and " --- just switch off any loyalties ---"
It's a quality I openly admit that I defo don't possess, and reckon that it's a failing of the vast majority of "ordinary" fans too!"

I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but Jake Connor continues to impress, and if Wembley was next week, he'd defo be in my seventeen.
He's had his demons / troubles in the past, as I'm sure we wouldn't deny, but he's playing the football of his life this term.
Would the Aussies try to wind him up if he plays? Of course they would, but I reckon it's a risk worth taking.
He can slot in anywhere across the back division, and would be ideal on the interchange bench.
Other (fitness providing) certs? Junior Nsemba, and Herbie Farnworth for me.
Your thoughts?

According to a report in today's League Express, Connor's name won't be amongst those of the thirty two man squad that Shaun Wane is announcing today.
I fail to see the reasoning of it, but.....................
Whoever gets picked, I'll be at all three tests, supporting my country at my game!
Can we finally bring an end to over half a century of hurt? I remain the eternal optimist!
Spelly.
Well, the thirty-two names for an "off feet squad session" tomorrow has been announced, and JC is conspicuous by his absence.
None of the NRL guys in there of course, but the long term injured trio of Matty Ashton, Danny Walker, and Jack Welsby are included.
I must confess that the term "off-feet" is new to me.

Whenever I've watched Leeds this season, Connor has created half the tries and kicked all the goals. He's having a cracker of a season.
But, his face obvs doesn't fit. It was always going to be Williams & Smith with Lewis on the bench. I'm not sure Williams is worth a spot based on form, but then he does usually play well for England.

He's (more than?) a bit of a maverick, his record is not blemish free, meaning there'll always be the "What if ...........?" scenario hanging over his head, and as you say, his face doesn't fit., but............
I wanna beat the Aussies so much it hurts, and I genuinely believe that we'd have a better chance of doing so, if he was in our seventeen.
There's still about four months until an Ashes ball is kicked, and a lot may happen in the interim, but.........
I'm not holding my breath about him helping us end over half a century of Green and Gold dominance!

@spelly Will there
any Swinton born playing ?
Highly unlikely!
Even I'm not Swinton born! 🤣
But as I've said many times previously, I'll there to support my country, at my game! Will you be there?
Spelly. You should be supporting Salford would belike myself supporting Wire cos we are both in Cheshire

The logic of your reply escapes me, but................
You didn't answer my question, so I'll put it to you again! Will you be at the tests watching your country (with poss Widnes born players in it) come the Autumn?
Spelly.
@spelly The logic is quite simple you seem to have a problem with Widnes born lads playing for their country. If it is too hard to understand why are you not supporting Salford as you say you where not born in Swinton
1) @spelly The logic is quite simple you seem to have a problem with Widnes born lads playing for their country. 2) If it is too hard to understand why are you not supporting Salford as you say you where not born in Swinton
1) Absolutely NO I DON'T! If we turn the Aussies over, with seventeen Widnes born lads in the line-up, I'll be turning cartwheels!
2) I wasn't born in S*****d either, as I explained, but does it matter where you're born?
I have a mate at the Lions, and a fellow resident of God's Little Acre here in Monton, who's originally from Colchester! He headed north for work, and he's now a Swinton regular! He's not lost his darn sarf accent, as he still drinks out of a glarse, and today we played Newcarsle, but he's true Lion!
So I ask you for a third time. Will you be joining my Colchester mate, and I at Wembley, Everton, and Headingley?
