Thought they did a good job for their first foray into RL, camera work was good and Hills was a decent anchor

Excellent viewing figures.

Average of 531,000 and peaking at 750,000 for the end of the match.

The most encouraging thing is that it was a very entertaining match and if I was new to the sport, I would definitely turn on to watch next week.

Week 2 and reports say 500K viewers again. I’d be as bold to say this may be the greatest publicity for the game than we’ve seen since the start of Super League! Coverage has been great and Hillsy certainly has the passion to promote the game.

I thought it was brave of C4 to cover all of the tribute to Jonny Whitely in their second broadcast, but the fact that they did, and did so well, really does show that someone in the production team really understands RL and the respect of the fans for the players and history. Ive got nothing against the good coverage of PremierSports either just to be clear, but C4 are really doing this well so far.

Another thing they should be credited for it the time the games are on.  12.30pm on terrestrial TV on a Saturday afternoon is a great time for the casual fan to tune in.  Long may it continue.
