Championship TV Coverage

The majority of the clubs including Widnes have voted against the Premier Tv offer to cover all the Championship matches for the next 3 seasons .
They didn’t think the money offered was enough to cover for the loss of spectators, £50,000 the first year, 75,000 the second year and 100,000 for the third year. It would give each club about £400 a match over the 3 years

I should think so too. That is  a ridiculously low amount per match.  From memory when the BBC televised games did the home club not get £3k per match in the early 80s? I acknowledge not many fans will sign up for Premier Sports but some of those that do will probably skip games. I do  not think the Championship can stand every game being  televised. I would prefer just one or two games each round shown at a different time/day to the other games

I also think it would benefit the game much more if games were shown on eithet BBCI, TV, channel 4 or 5.

One benefit might be that it enhances the possibility of a break away from SL.

The loan system and the fact that SL clubs are already lining up transfers for 2025 well before the approved deadline in May indicates that the tail is wagging the dog these days with SL/RFL plainly not managing the game effectively.

Allowing a farcical player loan system is yet another example where real management is required!!!

£400 adds up to about 20 people going to the match, I think if it wa on tv, there would be more than that , that would stay away and watch it, plus the amount those 20 people could spend on food and drink. So the clubs would be worse off, when they need all the money they can at the moment.

Totally agree - there is no need to have every game live, that must cost them a lot to deliver  that.

much better off 1 game a week, preferably on Saturday evening and pay the home club a decent fee, alongside paying every club a basic amount, because as we know some clubs would be featured more than others - not many punters would watch Doncaster v Whitehaven for instance
