According to Barry Mc Dermott commentating on the Toulouse  v Batley game the average contract in the Championship is just £8,000 a year. It just proves most just play for the love of the game.

Not sure you got that right Geoff. They were talking about the difference between full and part time teams and the commentator said Batley spend the least on their team £200,000. Most of their team being on about £8,000 per year. Not sure (could be wrong) but I don’t recall them saying average contract in Championship being £8,000 don’t think anyone at Widnes will be on anything that low👍👍

Hard to see some of the Fev players happy with £8k tbh, maybe have well paid 'jobs'.
