Changes are plenty as the Vikings return to action welcoming back a former player
The Vikings return to the field following a three week break from action as they are set to take on high flying London Broncos.
Widnes have been desperately unlucky in recent weeks falling to back to back narrow defeats against Oulton Raidette’s and most recently Hull FC, where the team led 16-4 at the break.
Attention now turns to London Broncos, who claimed a Super League scalp defeating Leigh Leopards 20-8 in the Challenge Cup back April.
The Broncos National Championship form is just as impressive only falling to a defeat against table toppers Manchester Swinton Lionesses.
Challenges don’t come any easier for Widnes who are enjoying a fresh learning experience at Championship level. The team have remained spirited and have taken every game in their stride.
Resilience and the desire to compete has been on display for all to see throughout the season and this coming Sunday will be no different.

Head coach Dom Dean makes three changes to his match day squad that suffered a narrow home defeat against Hull FC.
Hooker Lily Wilkinson and Back-row Tina Millan are unavailable for the clash, whilst Hollie Jones is recovering from a minor injury sustained against Hull FC.
Prolific try scorer Naoimh Gill-Ward returns to action on the Wing, whilst Simone Hart slots back into the Back-row.
Becky Webb returns to the Vikings from a stint with Super League team Leigh Leopards and is rewarded with a starting Centre shirt.
Rachael Porter replaces Hollie Jones at Half-back, whilst exciting outside back Marnie-Lee Kelly drops to the bench.
Exciting youngster Megan Wall is rewarded with a starting position on the Wing, whilst Juliet Porter is appointed starting duties at Hooker.
Becky bolsters squad options
Widnes are delighted to welcome back Centre come Back-row Becky Webb for the remainder of the National Championship season.
Becky was instrumental in the Vikings promotion campaign to the Championship in 2025 and bagged herself a vital try in the 16-12 Grand Final victory against Wakefield Trinity.
At the seasons end, Becky took up an opportunity to join Super League team Leigh Leopards, where she forced her way into the team, regularly featuring at Centre.
Having proved herself at the highest level, Becky now returns to Widnes continuing her playing career for the 2026 season and beyond.
The Irish international will bring plenty of aggression in defence and a threat close to the try line with her exceptional ability to run dangerous lines in attack.
