Whatever the reason and whoever decides, the east and west stands are redundant.

@sinbad Not saying it’s right, but it’s probably a council decision to save money on stewarding.

It doesn't cost the Council at all, it costs the Club.

It does save the council though...

Personally I think it’s an over reaction about away fans (especially the NWC) since people kicked off in the south about away fans there has been 0 problems as it is stewarded well and away fans are segregated just like it will be on Sunday in the north the wakey fans won’t be anywhere near Widnes fans and it will create an atmosphere we’ve not had for years… unfortunately as much as I don’t want it to happen I think Wakey will take home the points but it’s gonna make for a cracking day. People now need to get behind the club instead of moaning at every opportunity and just be glad of where we are in the league and how we’ve been playing upto now.

It definitely costs the council.

Barnsley are in the same position as us (council owned Stadium), and for the past couple of seasons they've forced the club to reduce away allocations to save on stewarding costs.

The Away end at Oakwell holds over 6,000, yet most clubs only ever 1,500-2,000 tickets, even if there's demand for more...

Rather our club have more money to be honest mate. More money better players and team. Suppose if I was running a business I rather have overheads cheaper.

@johng My friends and I are gold season ticket holders and chose our seats because of mobility issues and ease of access. We sit together but since the club have been selling meals with seating upgrade there has been an issue that people are being told to sit anywhere, not a problem you may say, oh yes it is!! At the last home game only I could make it when along come four Haven fans and decide to sit two either side of me! Plenty of other seats available. No issues on the day but not a very good way of operating.

Wakefield have announced their squad with Jermaine McGillvary, Iain Thornley and Ky Rodwell dropping out.

Trinity Squad to face Widnes:

1 Max Jowitt
3 Oliver Pratt
5 Lachlan Walmsley
6 Luke Gale
7 Mason Lino
8 Josh Bowden
9 Liam Hood
10 Renouf Atoni
11 Matty Ashurst
12 Josh Griffin
13 Jay Pitts
14 Liam Kay
15 Caleb Uele
17 Luke Bain
18 Ky Rodwell
21 Thomas Doyle
22 Jack Croft
23 Romain Franco
24 Myles Lawford
26 Harvey Smith
30 Noah Booth
32 Derrell Olpherts

Still a very strong squad, but McGilvary caused havoc with Sheffield.

I can't go so can someone shout themselves hoarse on my behalf

You'll be pleased to know virtually all the Gold Section is sold out for Sunday, so sadly, you will probably have the inconvenience of someone sitting in the seat alongside you (the same inconvenience they will endure having to sit next to you).

Surely the Council would be billing the Club more for the extra Stewarding, staffing of concourse bars, cleaning up afterwards, otherwise we would have them open all 4 stands for the price of 2.

I'm actually astounded people just can't get there head round the fact the clubs pretty much dictated to regarding stewarding..safety etc ...and the logic that the club is first and foremost a business ..and like any business your not going to pump money into certain scenarios that can be solved without wasting money .. although its massively died down theres still an element on social media..on here that just want to batter the club...it's been explained clearly the decisions made regarding Wakefield fans..it's a one off due to their travelling support ...it adds additional funds to the club...look on the bright side for a change FFS

Agreed why waste money. Imagine paying loads more on opening another stand and.club can't afford to buy a decent squad next year? Even worse go into debt again because to please some fans on seating. It is a 13500 stadium and only  20% fill it. Plenty of seats for everyone 😂👍

@ratboy

It should be possible to place the South stand ST holders astride the centre line, leaving space for Karalius Suite diners to be reserved appropriately, without pinching ST reserved seats.

Looking from the North stand there does seem to be lots of spare capacity in the South! Admittedly there is spare capacity in the North but stewarding the South must cost more per spectator.

Nobody knows the logistics and costs unless work on the board or the accounts. I am hoping for a good game, and it is nice to see a team to be proud of now.
