Second half very different to the first. London upped their discipline and took control of a battered Widnes team. Won’t be many teams who can compete with London and I don’t expect them to be beaten in the league. Give the team a chance before slating players as other games won’t be like this!

Give who a chance? Apart from abdull everyone on that team has been at this club for a long time Wilde and chaplehow included and none of them have ever been good enough we all know that. They’ve been given chance after chance and it’s just not acceptable anymore we’re so mediocre it’s actually getting very boring now.

The thing is that London don't have to win this league or finish in the top 10 to get promoted to SL. They have been guaranteed promotion by the RFL. Their focus will be trying to generate some interest to boost crowds.

As for Widnes after a spirited first half performance, they were overrun in the second half. A bit like watching an average lower tier part-time outfit against a full-time team just biding time to get to SL.

I am sad to say, but Widnes look like an average mid-table team in this league.

Observations for what they are worth

when I eventually got into the streaming after watching the warm up umpteen times ( where’s your granddaughter when you need her ?)

thecgame came on and I thought there was a domestic going on in the stand , then realised that was the ref shouting at all and sundry - turn volume off

london hooligan prop should have been yellow carded at least for his high shot in the first ten minutes, then he did it again, warning then late tackle - still on pitch.

not sure about camera angles but a lot of their tries appeared to be forward, most certainly one in the second half

positives - abdull improved as the game went on and was impressed when he followed his kick through and absolutely flattened their player

Murray, mcwhirter, edge, roberts and Wilde went well as did the wingers, Chapelhow and bibby ok

their 7 looks very tasty

Also forgot to mention JJ and fozzy went well - particularly fozzie second half tackle

I’d say we did well to pull it back in first half and second half was all about fitness levels. Certain players have obviously had no preseason training at all and that comes down to S&C coach and head coach implementing a training program and diet.

it’s difficult to get excited about a new season with the same team for the last few seasons who can’t finish above 6th. How can the fans feel we are going to be competitive when our stand off is bigger than our props

we all hope Abdull improves and shows us why we signed him but it looks like he hasn’t done any preseason at all

Difficult to say where I stand with this result. Fully expected, I suppose, and many on the forum see keeping the score under 50 as a big plus. Maybe I’m naive or stuck in the past, but while I fully understand that times, teams and circumstances all change quickly the idea of our expectations to be so reduced as to be happy at a 30+ points defeat against London Broncos still wrankles with me.

I know what you mean but realistically they're a full-time outfit with half a team of players from the 2nd tier in Oz, some of whom wouldn't look out of place in SL. We have obvious issues, more or less the same ones as in previous seasons, but London won't lose many (if any) games this season.

But we did run Wakefield closer when they stormed the division and the 3 that went up last year we were reasonably close it just seems like we don't make any improvements

we all say we need more pace or creativity so why sign the same players that don't give you that

a new season should be exciting looking forward to the new players you've signed to hopefully change things we sign our old players back and re sign the ones we got that have failed it's pretty depressing

Not sure what people were expecting. Don’t think we can compete with part time Championship teams, never mind a full time team with a few NRL players in it.

Desperate for a full back with a little X factor and a prop that can actually make metres and not one who’s making up the numbers.

Abdull the least of our problems. Kicking games makes up for the lack of metres we out of yardage and actually tried stuff with ball in hand.

Correct add the blue eyed boys who Coleman brought in and won't drop. Embarrassing and way below mediocrity

@scouseviking55 it’s a fans forum for people to post about their opinions. We can all agree that we didn’t expect to win today but the club hasn’t signed players to address our shortcomings, pace in the backs and some big middles. Running the club like a part time model is not going to change our current position

@mckviking we are a part time model, that’s our finances and our clubs current position.

anyone expecting different needs to either get a grip or find some money to invest, problem is people still think this is the club from the 80’s and it ain’t. It frustrates me when people just can’t accept reality
