@vikingfox71 😂😂😂 I know I feel like im head cheerleader of doom 😂...much prefer lots of positivity but unfortunately there's not alot going around ATM...fingers crossed there'll be something to feel good about after tomorrow 🤞
Well every close season is the same we start positive and end up exactly where we are now the club STILL don't listen and learn

Surely Abdull at 6 ?
also are we deliberately holding players back from this game to keep them fit for forthcoming ( easier ) games
addy no better than what we have, but need some speed in the backs
no news on extra fixture either, but info was passed to all clubs earlier this week ?
@7-vikingnomad no there all just injured lol...think the only one that could fall into that bracket is langtree ...can't say I'd have wanted Addy unless he was nailed on replacing gregson (which he wouldn't) ..extra fixture is home and away Vs Goole ...only thing holding it up is clubs agreeing dates for these games .
Other teams can find investors no matter how unattractive the proposition yet we seem to slide further and further down the ranks worrying about barrow and Batleys when we should be pushing hard for the top
surely looking for investors should be a priority now
Agreed, but for the potential investor what is there to invest in? A faded club with dwindling crowds, a long history of mismanagement and playing in a minority sport whose regulators are a laughing stock. If you or I were not diehard Widnes fans would we risk serious capital investment in the club?
@cumbria-viking but then on the same premise why invest in York or Oldham neither are good investments?
@vikingfox71 fair point...easy answer is don't know....York with their location and facilities have always been a shoehorn for SL if they got their house in order ....Oldham just very lucky they have ford and Quinn and a very good relationship with the rothwells that own Oldham and boundary park ...York now are a potentially very lucrative club if they can enhance their attendances ....for years we're seen as a club of financial mismanagement that now don't really show any ambition onfield ..have a council owned stadium and only take a small slice of matchday sales (food..beer) ...likes been said crowds are dwindling through lack of onfield success and dishing new contracts to very very average players that at any other club would be shipped out ...club for good few years have always made the right noises and then found ways of botching things up ...or sugar coating poop like they did over the new kit deal ..worded as biggest kit deal etc...when questioned on the quote it's changed to "in terms of service" ..."in terms of getting gear quickly" ...what happened...the leisure wear didn't turn up ....stupid little things like that that doesn't happen at other clubs would put many people off
Anyways ...enough of being a critical sarcastic so and so this is what id go with .. rather than what I expect .. reasoning being connell brings a ball carrying threat from deep .. Fleming can't catch a cold or tackle a crisp pack one on one ...I know for fact Taylor is a very powerful centre and I'd have him over Fleming and I know for fact he's going to be a decent signing ...Owens in the halves over Lyons ....ye need ye captain in the thick of it ...has a bit of a running game unlike Joe ..great talker .doesn't chuck interceptions for fun . better defensively..I'd start Bibby alongside dizzy ..think with London you need to meet size with size fire with fire early on ..bring more mobile props on when games tiring .foz at 9 to speed up the ruck ..I'd have JJ at LF coz he just brings that extra whack ...good hands (not the great ball carrying LF the gaffer loves 👀👀👀) but another leader..back row picks itself till Adam and Danny bring competition...Roberts and bent for versatility...covers centre ..back row ..and prop ....
1..Connell

@cumbria-viking A better selection than we have sent to London, in my opinion. Let's hope Coleman has got it right and we manage to compete against the SL hopefuls!
@cumbria-viking playing the biggest pack in the league and we have picked our smallest back row 3 !! Must be too run them around on the hard ground....oooh it's January 🤷♂️
