@vikingfox71 exactly ....I'm all for optimism but I'm actually concerned for the mental well being of any of our fanbase that think our squads getting top 6 ..especially with our inability to create out wide and gaping lack of pace ...top 10 is potentially a goer but 6 I think not

@cumbria-viking even the year we got in play offs we didn't score a lot of points !! So how that's miraculously changed with basically the same team is beyond me!! Lack of creativity and pace we will try to stay in games and outlast whatever opposition standard we face

It’s a shame to be so negative but that squad is diabolical compared to other teams in the championship. How do we get it so wrong every year? There’s literally nothing to get excited about. 

@member151 only godsend this week is when the forecasted walloping comes it'll just go down as told you so ..was expected anyway ....

@cumbria-viking it's possible we could win like in Toulouse last year but just masks the problem for a few more weeks,if the weather bad and it's a slog fest it's perfect for our anti-rugby formula lol

I think we will lose heavily at London but lets face it they could cope in SL I think we will struggle sround 7th to 9th but partly because of the fixture set up. 

I do believe if our props of Murray, Chapelhow, Bibby & Houghton keep injury free they are the best 4 props we have had for a while. 

If we play Bent & Gregson often we will struggle. Hope Connell gets a chance & think our new half back from Hull could surprise us if he remains injury free.

Cumbria Viking this is players Alan Coleman keeps playing and re signing new contracts for mate. I do not understand why Gregson, Lyons and Bent are first choice picks or even in the squad if we want a top 3 push? Lyons has had enough chances and is not good enough for top 4 team. I look at other clubs and their centres and wingers are stronger and faster. Edge for me is our best centre. If Coleman does not make top 4, then  I think he needs to move on even though a nice guy. He is too loyal to players who are not performing for him. Abdul was a big gamble and why has the conditioner not got hold of this issue in pre season training, especially with an eating and drinking plan at least?

I read a piece on Total Rugby League about the Newcastle squad being heavily bolstered by loan players brought in with their dual reg with York but I didn’t notice that Roberts was on the list. Has that just happened?

As for the London game, a heavy defeat seems inevitable and I just hope it’s not completely demoralising for the players.  We really are a group of fans expecting the worst from the season with hopefully just the prospect of a few crumbs of comfort. There is no genuine expectation beyond that. The desperate lack of pace in the backs is a huge issue. The game (or was it two?) that Cai Taylor-Wray played last season showed the difference some real gas from the back can make, and Ben Condon showed the level of forward we need to compete at the top end of the table and that we now don’t have. It’s going to be a long season. 

Other teams can find investors no matter how unattractive the proposition yet we seem to slide further and further down the ranks worrying about barrow and Batleys when we should be pushing hard for the top

Think the sad thing is we all agree we're desperate for a bit of dazzle and pace from full back ... unfortunately in interviews the gaffer has bigged up an exciting signing that supposedly would be a statement and have other teams thinking "wow what a good signing"(the gaffers words )...first was hoped it was already done ...then it was over the weekend..then it was next 48hrs ....should have just kept shut because it's painting a picture that it's fell through or we've been turned down...and it's just going to breed negativity...mainly by me 😂 fingers crossed it's still a possibility because that kind of player is very much needed ....one name to add that could have been approached would have been Ashton Goulding...still unattached n fits the bill
