No decision by the RFL yet on a points deduction for Featherstone.
However there is none for Salford as they feel it would be unfair!
It was not unfair for Widnes when we were in financial trouble.
Double standards me thinks!
Ridiculous
Precedent set.No more points reduction penalties in future.

*Similar for us mate. We copped for one!
Annoys me more coz it's the Pinks!
Spelly.
Odd when you see Salford fans saying "yeah but we've been hit by not recieving any central funding" ....and yet when we hit administration...we had remaining central funding withheld...academy funding withheld..and a points deduction......the inconsistency of RL knows no bounds ...half expecting Fev to be given SL funding and a lifetime all you can eat buffet at niges house ..
Not really surprised - the rfl are a laughing stock
next they will allow the new Salford to have the bankrupt clubs img rating for last season
absolute farce
Did the RFL indicate when and why the previous rule on a points deduction was changed?
Typical RFL. Making it up as they go along.
Having said that, with London all but guaranteed promotion and likely to be a closed shop in SL for a few years and little or no central funding for Championship teams, does it really matter where you finish in the league (other than pride)?
Or maybe, RFL are aware of a few SL Clubs facing financial problems and don't want to apply points reduction to any of those teams.
With no promotion based on on field performance and no League 1 to be relegated to, a points deduction would seem a bit pointless. More benefit in re-distributing Salford and Featherstones central distribution between the other 19 Championship clubs. However it wouldnt surprise me if they gave it to York instead!
Regarding the SL teams viability, I think you are probably right
Thinking about london, not sure they will be a shoe in as you say, but surely the RFL will tweak the qualification factors again - Huddersfield or cas will be the targets
we will just carry on in the championship as a solvent club and hopefully play some good rugby !
A points deduction would hurt them even more as it would affect the following years central funding and play off position. The games fans are dropping like flies and its all down to corruption. With no promotion based on on field performance and no League 1 to be relegated to, a points deduction would seem a bit pointless. @prisoner I cant see Featherstone finishing anything other than bottom anyway. Both Salford and Featherstone have the most difficult fixtures being seeded 1st and 4th.
Salford have a club approved, 14 days until kick off but havent named a coach or any players or trained together.
Featherstone have 16 days until kick off but currently dont even have RFL membrrship approval. Most players have departed. It is a complete fiasco at the moment, I have my doubts that Featherstone will make the starting line, they will finish bottom though even if by some miracle they make it.
Thought salfraud had announced their coach - used to coach the women’s team, and at least one player who was with them last year ( amongst the many )
fev - totally unsure where they are, maybe Lord Lucan can help us there.
but if those 2 teams are poor that will help us, assuming we can win the 4 games
downside is attendances May fall against what would probably be 2 of our best gates of the season
There are conflicting stories circulating. There's little doubt that Mark Campbell/Chris Hamilton have some sort of squad cobbled together if they get the go-ahead from the RFL, but there also seems to have been some objection to MC having a direct involvement. At the end of the day the RFL may have to decide between giving Campbell's set-up the go-ahead or not have a club at all, at least for 2026.
There is a fairly significant divide between what you might call the pro-Campbell and anti-Campbell sections of the Fev fan base too.
As for points deductions, personally I would have no problems with us starting on minus 12 points, and I'd much rather have that situation than zero central funding instead. We're unlikely to finish very high in the table in 2026 if we do make the starting line anyway so will be on very low funding in 2027 anyway.
I hope fev make the starting line - you are more deserving than salfraud, as you were honest and went into administration

Thank you for your kind words. We have got ourselves into a right mess though, largely of our own doing, though I fully understand why we went for it so much in that fateful year of 2023 because after knocking on the door of SL for 12-13 years the IMG system meant that was our last realistic chance of getting entry there in the forseeable future and the rewards arguably jusitified the risk; we're paying the consequences for it now.
