Assuming we are a Championship side again in 2026, who would you like us to sign realistically from rival clubs to take us forward and hopefully move us up to being a play off side. I know we need props, a stand off and a centre. With Williams and Lloyd retiring we also need a winger and 2nd row.
We could announce players as sides are eliminated from the play offs such as Oldham and Featherstone. The current league situation with 2/3 teams going up could potentially delay some recruitment for those trying to secure a full time contract.
Rumoured players
Mellor - Stand Off
J Chapelhow - Prop
Farnworth - Prop
Akuoala- Prop
Percival - Centre
W Roberts - Half back
Bennison - Wing
Bibby - Prop
Condon - 2nd Row
Not sure where all the rumours have come from, but mentioned in some capacity online.
We're unlikely to be able to sign more than a couple of those, Farnworth already signed up for Oldham.
Ah yes just looked it up, Farnworth signed a new 1 year deal with Oldham 4 days ago. Ted Chapelhow has also signed a new deal with Oldham for next year as well.
I see Halifax absolutely hammered them last night and they are out of the play offs. All ifs and buts, but I wonder if we would have turned them over as well. 40 points at home with all those new signings!

Sounds like Bennison is also going to York
@mckviking they are 2 of those in the wait and see who's going up category. Both young lads and already at SL clubs so can't blame them for staying full time. Both local so if York still in the Championship we could of had a chance of signing them as it saves a 90 mile each way trip.
York have to be one of the sides going up, I wonder if they are making all these signings but now holding off on announcing them until the official announcement is made that they are in SL?
Riley dean oldham would be my choice of stand off out of favour at Oldham although quite a few unhappy apparently
I can't see us getting Percival doesn't seem a Widnes thing to do is be checking Bradford and York for cast offs gill the centre is worth a shout
Can't believe people think we're signing Percival...
For the record and not to crush any dreams but pretty sure saints have already confirmed players leaving ...including bennison and Roberts who are York bound .. ritson off to barrow ...and someone else I can't remember
@cumbria-viking Ive seen that Saints have released them, but have you seen or heard anything official about Roberts and Bennison going to York, or is it just a strong rumour like Condon, who was definitely going to Leigh?
I've also heard were in for matty Gee from Bradford

A time-served second rower with plenty of SL experience. Not a world beater but ought to be a decent signing for our squad.
@sunny just had a look, he's from Wigan so could be possible. He signed a 2 year deal from Halifax until 2026 with Bradford so he is under contract. Guess Bradford could be making some moves for SL.
As you say a solid signing, mixture of SL and Championship experience. Not the biggest player in terms of a 2nd rower but at 30 years old would be a pretty good like for like replacement for Rhodri Lloyd.
Looking at the tone of the announcement on the Featherstone site with the chairman stepping down I can see some of their squad becoming available. They have some good players. Not good to see another side struggling but that seems to be where the game is up to at the moment.
Jayden Hatton at centre is local to us, Ben Reynolds at stand off. Gadwin Spinger would be a good impact prop off the bench. King Vuniyayawa had a good game when they beat us in the home game this season and has played SL for Leeds and Salford.
