I couldn't possibly comment on Patton, not seen much of him lately but if he is no better than what we already have then his game must have gone into rapid decline

If he's gone from Wire to Salford to Bradford he can't be that good. Salford are pretty poor and I don't think he got much game time with them. I would of had him at Widnes but not overly bothered.

Don't know much about Gee, I see he played a handful of games last year for Leigh, happy with the signing of Wilde in the 2nd row plus re-signing Lawton and Grady, we can't sign every player is he really any better than those 3?

Is he better than Craven or Smith?

I would say 'no'. Any half back is only as good as the pack in front of him. They are his weapons.

Regarding props, Gavin Bennion was always toted as being a good fit for us. No sign that we have approached him, however.

Based on Smith’s performance at 7 for Widnes- yes.

The question should be is he better than Lyons and Craven and the answer is a big fat yes.

Are there any signs that we have approached any other props, or signs that we haven't approached Bennion?

Regarding Patton, he would have been welcomed on here if he had been signed based on his time at Warrington, but his game does seem to have declined. Was he injured at Salford? I suspect, as mentioned on here, he may well be on a full-time contract at Bradford.

Dec Patton is a bad egg, believe me when I say we are a better squad without him in it. Ask yourself why he;s sliding down the pyramid, and why Salford want rid already, why other SL clubs aren't interested in him.

Bradford are welcome to him.

Patton didn't inspire me with confidence when he was here for a few games, rather have Gilmore coming back than him in a straight choice.

If the Brown signing does happen, then that could mean Smith back to SH, even though I think he has been more effectual at 13.

We will see how good or otherwise the 4 from Oldham are, Dupree got Young Player of the year yesterday so that augurs well. I think Bent is the unknown quantity, but given the number of back-rowers we do have its not a disaster to take a punt on him.

But Baker, Brown and Bent are 13’s.

We can’t surely play them 3 out of position to accommodate Smith at 13.

Agree Smith will stick at 13 and wouldn’t touch Patton, reckon he will only be at Bradford for 1 season

Looks like Baker will be playing regularly at prop given the way the squad is looking.
