As an aside, I can see Cross coming back, possibly even next year on loan.

Not sure he’ll get in at Salford ahead of Sio, Russell, Burgess or Williams. Will also be a different coach that signed him.

Always liked him, a Simone but an effective centre, Commit the defender and play in the winger. Had some very good games for us including, Cas and Warrington away.

Mildly surprised they haven't mentioned anything about Season Tickets considering we are now in October but I guess there isn't a great rush.

Happy to be corrected and/or wrong, but I think they may be a bit more expensive as there shouldn't be any behind closed doors stuff this year and we missed out on what 3 home games in the League?

On Tilleke, be surprised if he didn't resign and would like Hulme too.

Also is tomkins full time ? If he is and has a firefighter job, with the shift system that would make him unavailable for quite a few games – breach of contract ? I suspect there will be an announcement after the end of September of a mutual agreement and he will then go part time somewhere else

Reason Tomkins came here was to play part time.  Think about it, he played in a Super League Grand Final for Salford then signed for us straight after!

I think the point is that Tomkins isn't even playing part time.

Tilleke has resigned and club in discussions with Hulme.

Assuming the imminent announcement of Tilleke and Hulme, that just leaves Else, Roby and Edge from the current squad. Else was the player who seemed most likely to move on to another club and it may be his agent is pursuing a move. If he doesn't move, I would hope that we would re-sign him as a half-back, as well as cover for hooker. I would also keep Edge. Never let us down when he played.

If Tomkins is fit and available to play. he would be a welcome "addition" to the squad. If not, they may as well pay him off and let him go, with some restriction on him playing for another club in 2022. No doubt he would soon re-appear at Leigh!!!!

If we have indeed signed Brad Holroyd then retaining both Edge and Roby would leave us in danger of overloading the squad with outside backs again. Wouldn’t be an easy call between them as they are at a similar level. Edge being slightly younger may be in pole position of the two in the club’s thinking but that’s a bit of a guess.

We have signed Fozard as first choice hooker and have also signed Gregory who you would assume will fight it out with Hulme for the bench hooker spot.  If Hulme is announced we will then have 3 specialist hookers in the squad. Else could yet sign as a hooker/half back as well. I can't see us keeping Tomkins given we have added 2 specialist hookers to the squad. He must be one of our highest earners and I would hope the contract money freed up would allow us to sign an experienced prop.

But that’s because we haven’t signed enough forwards.

Early days, granted, but can’t believe we’ve only signed 2 new props.

Levy Nz, Dupree & Bent is listed as prop/loose forward plus Will T, is a young set and I guess we all think that a couple of experienced old heads would make a robust 'middle'.

On the face of it the age of most of our forwards plus their highlights leads to a feeling that most could play anywhere in the pack. Just how Simon will play them will depend on how pre-season goes but if they respond well our defence should be pretty strong.

Three centres with Spedding fast enough to play wing if needed, and Ince having played centre should give some injury cover in the backs.

Can't see where two more experienced forwards might come from within the UK game.
