We are really not good enough for a top 6 place, as many on here suggested at the beginning of the season. Whoever comes in as Coach should just try to get the best out of the squad we have and improve performances game by game. We will finish where we deserve to finish.

We did show some glimpses of good attacking play, but defence really needs some work to say the least. Once again Doro, Farnworth, Baker and Smith  put in good stints and Craven showed glimpses of why we need him back. Wilde had probably his best game this season. We should also accept that Sheffield looked good in attack and defence and looked a half decent team. Perhaps an example of what a good experienced Coach can get out of a team.

As usual, some over the top comments on here, but it was another poor performance. Hopefully, we can cut out defensive errors against Bradford and grab a win to bring a smile back on fans’ faces.

I must commend the poster who managed to criticise Phil Finney for this poor performance. I am impressed that he knows the background of every CEO in rugby league, union, football and every other sport! I am sure that there must be a former Academy Coach/Performance Manager in there somewhere.

On tonight's showing we are way off a play off spot. When Sheffield went up a gear we couldn't match it.

Ok Frank, I'll bite on the CEO comment I made.

It is nothing at all personal. I'm sure he is a Widnesian through and through.

However, the body of evidence over 3 years shows a clear failure to retain coaches, a clear failure in recruitment, a clear failure in league position and a strange scenario over the loss of VIQI. Not to mention crowds dropping.

I didn't state that PF was responsible for the loss tonight, but he has to take some level of responsibility for the pathetic mess that the team is. This is whether he directly signed players or empowered SF to do so.

There may be a former Academy Coach CEO somewhere, but I can guarantee he or she hasn't overseen such an abject humiliation as PF!
