It was not the undavoury chanting but I think the club should make a statement  about that too. Some fans entered the field of play on the final hooter. I only saw one to be honest may have been more that I did not see.

On the plus side the behaviour on the minutes silence for Drummond was excellent even though seconds before there was loud chanting that abruptly stopped. That was our fans at their best.

I thought it would be closer, it looked like SL vs Championship. Either Featherstone are an amazing side or they caught Leigh cold at the start of the season. We just couldnt match them for speed and intensity and in fairness they totally out played us.

From the kick off they made easy yards to the half way line and then kicked to our goal line, that set the tone and we didn't have the ball in the Leigh half for the first 15 minutes and found ourselves 16 nil down. I would of said go all out in the first 10 minutes, move up fast and smash them, try and set the tone and make a contest of it at least at the beginning. Other than 10 mins before half time we never looked to be in the game, i thought we looked very tired out there. Leigh walked down the field in attack and pushed us back in defence.  I also thought Mellor was MOM and played very well.

a wake up call but not the end of the world. leigh may now have 2 -3 or 4 games more, is there still a salary cap? leigh must be close. back to reality 3rd of 4th will do me this season with a shot at the play offs. great support again away from home. bring on barrow and keep getting points in the league.

I've watched the last 2 games on TV and the main thing I've taken away is I'm not taking my kids to games anytime soon.

Awful language from supposed grown ups!

Same old Widnes never pushed up in defence easy yards all game for Leigh. Lack of props already showing, could be a long season.

In reality it was as expected, perhaps a few more points against us, but when you only get the ball in your own 20 makes it difficult

injury to Roby did not help and we had absolutely no luck

hope Jack is fit for Monday, otherwise who plays full back ?

Thought Fleming did an ok job there last night against a beaten team, it was a very difficult job - but I would expect him to go full back, failing that Brad Holroyd was a full back as a junior and has played more games there than the wing.  Hopefully one Edge, Ince or Spedding will be back too.

Leigh have strengthened their squad since their loss to Featherstone and last night's result showed the difference in available finances and was no real surprise.

The reality now, is that all we have to play for is a tilt at the playoffs and I think that is achievable. We need to get our best seventeen fit as soon as possible. I was looking at Barrow's squad and it is no surprise they are unbeaten against the opposition they have faced. We need to throw down a marker and pull out a strong performance.

I thought the middle defence was a little brittle last night and needs work this week on the training ground and I think it is important for the players to put on a dominant home performance on Monday night.

Never expected a win but the battering is disheartening.I hope we do learn from it and are able to give them a game in the league fixtures. You have to up your game against the best.

I look forward to the challenge when we get them on the plastic in April.

Sometimes you just have to take it on the chin. We can't compete with Leigh & Fev financially, so they have better players than the rest of the Championship, hence the fact they'll finish 1 & 2. Take those 2 out of the comp and anyone could win it.

Spoke to a member of the playing staff, this morning and he said there was a lot of bruised bodies today, they gave us a battering. Also the club are raging over the pitch invaders, as it could cost us dearly, if we cop a fine. That LSV pitch appears to be a magnet to the Widiots when they go to Leigh.

Time to grow up, Lads

Paulie xx

I doubt the plastic pitch will be of much benefit to us v Leigh, they had no problems last night on a wet pitch.Probably suit them more than us.

Leigh absolutely controlled the game and deserved the outcome. Last time we were there we applied some pressure and they struggled. This time they took the game away from us. Looking forwards, the result is on par with York. We need to win next time out. We have quality players to return ( in the future) . Top 6 is still attainable, but we need to take the public with us. Looking forward to a hunger Spedding, he terrorised Fev in the semi.

Doesn't change much does it? We thought we'd finish 3rd-6th, thought Leigh and Fev would be too good for us, it will probably pan out that way. Leigh and Fev will be too strong for the other teams, it will be them contesting the spoils at the end of the season.

The chase for Super League is a bit forlorn anyway really. Watching Toulouse, who were head and shoulders last year, they will be lucky to win a game in SL; they're awful. Leigh were lucky to win a game last time. Toulouse couldn't win a game with a millionaire backer and SBW in the team. Whoever goes up this year from Leigh & Fev will come straight back down with 0, 1 or 2 wins, I'll take that bet now.

That doesn't mean we can't enjoy our rugby.

Tend to agree there GP. Without major financial backing it will be hard to stay up. Look at Wakey and they are still struggling.

World events etc are going to hit many financial areas quite soon imo.  Just how many of RL's backers we will just have to wait and see.
