I thought we did well today. Missing Wilde, Edge & Sambou then losing Langtree early on & Owens for a long spell reduced our options. Definitely thought there was around at least 3.5 thousand on.

Yes, thought we did very well today against an opposition team tipped for top 4. We put in 80 minutes of effort and tried some inventive moves to break the, down.

It’s tough to pick out one player in particular when I thought everyone did well, but Abdull’s kicking was fantastic today and made for some exciting moments. Another MoM performance for me.

Great game, we could have been a lot closer but the clown with the whistle didn’t help

crowd - that’s a joke announcement - more like 4999

spoke to a few Leeds fans and they thought they were lucky !
anyway we now have more injuries sadly, probably need to recall our loan players

I watched on the Sportsman and I thought Abdul, Lawton and Mcwhirter stood out for me. But saying that I usually mention when I think someone is rubbish, and not one player had a bad game just Croft at halfback for Leeds and that extra quality speed beat us. The fitness for a part time team was very good, and with our squad depth I feel we can have a great season. I think Mcwhirter has to play 13 and I prefer him over Gregson. Connell looks very skillful at fullback with great speed and a lovely kick for the try. Ince and Butt solid on the wings. Well done lets keep this performances going for the rest of the season.

Henderson was complimentary of Widnes and banged the drum about the fans so passionate with ambitions for Super league. 😀 👍 On a positive Langtree just a head knock and will be back soon and looks like we did okay for injuries.

For me McWhirter is a natural modern day loose forward. Abdull, great kicking game, the length he gets on his kicks really helps win the territory battle. Connell looks very good, superb game vs Thatto, but you have levels in the game and he stood up well vs a SL side. JJ very fired up and got stuck in. Lawton great game and almost went the full length at one point!

Brilliant effort by the lads. A couple of moments of quality from Croft and that breakaway try from Lumb when it was 18-12, other than that there wasn't much in it. Before that Lumb try, I genuinely thought we had a chance. We looked dangerous when we pressed. The forwards were all great. Roberts put in a couple of great shots, I'm not sure 1 or 2 of those Leeds lads fancied it.

Well done, keep it up.

I watched the match on The Sportsman, and was really impressed by Widnes. If we play like that for the season there won't be many who live with us. The only criticism would be ball retention, but the game was at a fast pace for a Championship side and you can forgive the lads for overplaying at times. They probably thought we wouldn't get many chances to attack Leeds and looked for offloads that weren't on. You can't complain that didn't make it exciting though.

I thought Butt was really good on Saturday, and I am glad that Chapelhow got deserved recognition on this board.

Its a team game, and others that haven't been mentioned too much also really stood up well, not least Roberts. I would like to see Ince encouraged more, before he was injured he would have pin his ears back with some of the chances he had against Leeds. Defensively he was excellent, but I wonder if he isn't fully confident going forward yet.

Cheers.

@halfback-ragnarsson Butt is vastly underrated IMO, safe as houses from any kick.
