Leeds Game

Very weak Leeds side, only 13 players in the 21 that I've heard of. 3 more with squad numbers and then 5 with no first team squad number making up the 21.

The friendly against Warrington showed what a SL reserve side can do though, depends which Widnes turns up. The one that played Warrington in the cup last year would beat them.

@dan1 I read that Leeds have only won 1 challenge cup match since 2020 and that was against West Warriors . So with a weak team, and they don’t fancy playing on our pitch, we might stand a chance.

@sunny both good players but Sambou can play centre with Butt back on the wing and Lewis Hall although not as much of a threat as Wilde is solid and wont let us down. We still have a strong 17.

Sunny Wilde and Edge are definitely first on the team sheets when fit. Last season I would have been worried but with our squad depth I feel Sambou, Hall, Lawton and Max Roberts can do a decent job to cover the areas lost. Plus Mike Butt back and Matt Fleming not too bad mate. I am in work Saturday night and wont be travelling for the game so I will watch on the stream.

@7-vikingnomad hall was 18th man last week so you’d assume fit enough if called upon.

gilmore I’d play if fully fit but not risk otherwise

A great effort and Brodie Croft the difference.

no shame in that, a few 50/50’s do the other way and some scores don’t happen.

just hope it doesn’t do a wire from last year and derail us for the next few weeks

I thought we give it a real good dig especially missing a few key players from our squad and the injury’s we had on the day, we never gave up and played some good rugby.

That has to be our standard now this year because if we can carry on playing like that we will deffo be up near the top this year.

Nice to see the standard of refs is just as poor in super league tho! Moore is a clown.

Ref was awful both ways but don't think we got any 50/50 calls at all

great effort need to get mcwhirter and Connell on longer contracts thought crowd was bigger than 3k

all in all another good day

Thought it was a decent encounter with plenty of noise from our side. Backs took the ball up well and made plenty of metres AND just hope we can keep Abdul fit all season a great signing. Lawton and McWhirter the pick of the forwards for me.
Well done Vikings for the seventh minute applause.7777777777777777777777777

I thought we played really well. After the dropped up and under from Fleming that gave them an early try, it didn’t look good. But we fought back well.
They obviously thought we were a threat, going for goal at 6-6 and dropping a goal with 6/7 minutes to go, to put themselves 3 scores ahead.
I would have picked Lawton as MOM, thought JJ, Ince and Abdul also played well
