Get in! He was gutted when he left us, one of our own.

This is a real rags to riches story. JD came over here with no club and asked Lancashire Lynx for a trial! Pure hard work got him where he is from Rochdale to us to Wakey and then getting into the SL Dream team, captaining Wakefield for a number of games and now he's made a similar path in his coaching career from winning the comp with Northern Pride to now being named head coach of one of the biggest names in the NRL. Great stuff.

Vastly over rated as a player.

He may not have been regarded as a great player, but he was certainly a great team leader, especially for Trinity. In my opinion, Trinity would not be still in Super League today. He was outstanding in the latter part of the 2006 season. I also noticed from reading your forum over the years, Jason is highly respected by many Widnes fans. Both our clubs have been fortunate to see him play for us.
thank you

There have been many more talented players than Jason that have achieved far less imo. Which says a lot about his determination and character.

I don't recall JD being over rated, he was never one of the fashionable big name players at the likes of Wigan, Bradford or Saints. He was a top bloke and a good pro, that's why he was respected. I used to like his dad Con coming on here and contributing when he was a Widnes player as well. He's gone from paying his own air fare from Australia to Lancashire Lynx to coaching one of the biggest clubs in the NRL. Take Ferguson, Morurinho and Klopp, not amazing or naturally gifted as players but very determined to suceed and top managers.

You forgot to add its your opinion. JD was a decent player for us . Hard working professional with a good work ethic . If , in my opinion , we'd of had more players like him we wouldn't be in the league we are now .

Funny enough this thread isn't about Jason's playing ability, it's about his coaching career and how he has just been appointed to one of the top club jobs in the game.

No need to add in my opinion Vic, its a forum and that should be blatantly obvious.
