Sheffields game versus Dewsbury is to take place tomorrow, and I’m hoping for an unlikely away win (or even a draw) to guarantee us 7th place in the league

I'll be surprised if it's not a Sheff win, coz whilst Dews have nowt to play for apart from pride, the hosts have the incentive to finish higher than you mob on the ladder.

Eagles by at least a dozen for me.

We should have beaten Sheffield in both our games this season, and had seventh position sewn up by now, but they are a starnge side and lose some games which you might expect them to win.  I would be surprised if Dewsbury could pull something out of the bag for us, but you never know!

From the Dewsbury website:  Tomorrow evening’s game against Sheffield Eagles at the Olympic Legacy Park has been postponed.  A new date for the fixture will be confirmed as soon as possible

On another note, twelve wins for us this season - 7 away and just 5 at home.....when was the last time this club won more away league fixtures that home in a season?

What a sad situation we find ourselves in.Hoping Dewsbury beat Sheffield so we can finish SEVENTH in the second division.Perhaps eighth is what we deserve.

You're not alone in that scenario, coz...........

We've lost four league games this season, and three have been at home. Our only defeat on the road was (like everyone else in League 1) to the Cougars.

Sheffield won, so we are 8th.

As my old school reports used to say .. “must do better next year”

For how long has that been said?

(For Widnes, not from your teachers!!)

The Beeb's RL 'site doesn't even list last night's result, and still shows both Sheff, and Dews on P26, but the Eagles won 34-24, are now seventh, with you a position lower. so............

What are your predictions / hopes for next term?

The Championship will (in my opinion) be even more difficult / intense come 2023, with Toulouse there, along with either Fev, or Leythers, and 'Fax won't be far away either, so...........

Is a top four spot Kear's / the board's / your personal aim?

Hopefully, we'll be there too, but should that transpire into reality, anywhere over eleventh come this time next year, will have me turning cartwheels!

For me with the increase in budget that’s meant to be happening a top 5 finish is an absolute must, personally I was expecting a few more to be released than what has, if we fail a top 5 finish for me I’d be questioning how much money have we wasted renewing players deals like brookes, Holroyd, brown, Tileke to name a few who have made very little appearances in the second half of the season

We need to be top 4 next season, all these rumours about splashing the cash I have no idea where it is coming from, but if so great as long as it is spent well

toulouse will be interesting - is their benefactor going to continue ?
fev - me.ted towards season end and we competed well against them at our place

fax - ditto

and the rest ?

There’s one thing certain, JK has to turn the mentality around at this club. Far to long it’s been seen as a holiday camp for some players who rock up here imo. If that winning thing isn’t installed pdq,  we’ll be in the long grass for a some time 😢
