Iirc that is Bellamy's approach at Melborne Storm and he has a reputation of making unremarkable players into stars.
A you say he may be trying to do too much, but swapping to prop and then back again doesn't help. Better to make him a backrower attack! That was where Bent was great at mopping up tackles that might have been missed.
