Just catching up on the VIQI email update, £120,000 pledged for next season, £581,000 in total since 2019.
Members dropped a bit due to results but still around the 1000 figure which is decent.
Excellent figures, just hope the money is used effectively...
One things for sure - we will have a better squad with the VIQI money than without it. The signings so far are quite encouraging in my view, though obviously we have only announced roughly half the squad at this point.
Its a fantastic effort by the town and its supporters, the club should be proud of the effort that has been put in by all.
I understand that Fev has a similar system but from the reports that I have seen it isn't as well supported as VIQI.
A remarkable effort from a grubby town in Cheshire!!!

This town is a long way off being grubby in 2021
It is a fabulous place now
..... and I will always consider myself a Lancastrian!!
I think it also shows that supporters in a relatively small town like Widnes can make a difference. Perhaps a greater effort should be made to promote VIQI in the town to try and attract more local support.
The problem is that, whilst many still value the club and its history, the Borough has a low socio-economic base. As a native of the borough and resident for 80+ years it was ever thus. A major country-wide battle over wages seems likely, if you read the press. Hopefully Halton residents will benefit!
The relative success of VIQI and the ST take-up shows that there is still a core of support that hasn't been strangled.
The club tries hard, with minimal resources, to involve itself in community projects. This has been criticised and belittled by some but it indicates the need for the club to remain part of the life of the place.
Hopefully the spirit evident in the North stand last week will carry over into next season with increased ST sales etc. I certainly hope so.

...and the South stand, equally evident!
Glad to hear that Sunny!
Went home feeling much better!!!!!but you have to actually be there to get that buzz.
Agreed, sandgroper. The buzz after the game was really great last week so I went to Swinton this afternoon. Hmmm, at least I can say that I attended the last game of the season.
Hewer has not improved.
Thought the atmosphere was pretty good today and we certainly had more fans than at the last few away games I’ve attended. That was Hewer’s last game, I’ve certainly seen far worse refs.
Hewer has not improved.
You can't say that.
He's massively improved.
He's retired from refereeing after today.
If that's not an improvement, I don't know what is

Boom Boom.
Not for the first time I'm on my own here - because I've always thought that part-time Hewer was better than some of the full-time SL refs

Correct. And worrying if another ref is retiring. There aren't many of them.
