Ryan Shaw

Apprently we have been offered Ryan Shaw on loan from Leigh as he wants to follow an apprenticeship rather than go professional. Basically a Wire trained 'back' with experience.

Could be useful cover but not the solid second row/ prop that we need atm. He has played full back but nobody says how good!

He has a good pedigree and if it can be afforded I’d sign him to bolster our squad - and still keep looking for props.

As we already know, there are some good players out there who prefer to combine playing part-time with longer term employment.

Also links in to the Sheens line , going for youngsters who have decided that the high-flying is for the birds and got themselves a real job! Back to the future!!!

He’s got a good try scoring record but plays in positions where we actually have a bit of cover already. If his signing doesn’t stop us from getting the forwards we need to complete the squad then he’d be a decent option.

He would be a good winger to replace Johnson, good try scoring record. We currently have Roby, Edge, Buckley and Hatton competing for the spot, so can we accommodate him?

I think Owens, Spedding, Tyrer and Cross are sorted for the other backline positions.

Always a problem, trying to predict where injuries will come! He has played full back, as has Roby, - could allow Jack to go to hooker if needed.
