It has been reported that the SL is in talks with the Australian National Rugby League with regard to the NRL buying a controlling stake in SL, which is worth about £75m. Robert Elstone has been tasked with raising funds for SL through the sale of an equity stake in SL to investment companies in order to raise funds.

It will be interesting how far this proposal goes and whether any funds raised would be used for the good of the game in the UK, or just the 12 SL clubs. Would it see the final split between SL and the rest of RL in the UK? What would be the views of the NRL to the expansion of the game into NA and elsewhere?

Hopefully, Rimmer will be looking after the interests the clubs below SL!!!

He'll be looking after our interests I'm sure - plus the interests of Rimmer inc!

Agreed sandgroper, but it’ll be Rimmer’s  interests first, second and third, then everyone else

For salary levels that they enjoy our lead managers seem to be void of vision or plans for the future of the game. A paper review of what they see as the potential future developmdnt would have given fans something to think about other than which SL teams have a team available this week.

I realise that Covid was a massive problem, but one way to fight it is to plan ahead, and not just fixture lists!

The League Express letters show that we aren't the only ones who are fearful of where the game is going.

Any suggestions by the NRL would be interesting at least, and might jjst light a fire under our execs!
