"Hull Kingston Rovers' Mose Masoe is in hospital after suffering a serious spinal injury in Sunday's pre-season friendly against Wakefield Trinity.

The 30-year-old Samoa international forward had overnight surgery at Leeds General Hospital.

A Rovers statement said: "The club will provide further updates as soon as possible.""

I hope it's not too serious. This is a tough sport and we all know serious injuries can happen although thankfully they are few and far between.

I'm starting to wonder if the game's getting too dangerous for the modest living young men make out of it. Broken bones, concussion etc are routine. I know it's always been that way but things like this really make you wonder. Poor guy.

Awful.  People who accuse players of “stealing a living” should think about the genuine risk of serious injury involved with playing RL.
