Agree with that - they are actually in the wrong league. They should be in SL and Leigh should be in the Championship.
Been convinced from an early stage that Toulouse were miles above the other teams but you can’t knock Fev’s record and they do have plenty of quality. I think they will give them a game. Toulouse by 10.
Toulouse are not in the wrong league. They are in the Championship because they have not managed to get promoted in 2017, 2018 and 2019. This season, they have a good chance of promotion, with them and Featherstone way ahead of the other 12 teams. I am not sure that they are much, if any, better than Featherstone. I think Featherstone will beat them this week.
Whether they should have been promoted to SL instead of Leigh is a matter of opinion, but they would have faced the same problems as Leigh with the reduced funding and a squad of decent Championship players trying to compete in SL. I am sure that both Catalan and Toulouse would prefer to be playing in a successful top tier league in France if the broadcasting income could match SL and my bet is that one day, they will abandon SL and return to play in the French league.
I think the Toulouse squad this season is better than the Leigh squad, though that’s only my opinion and we don’t have the opportunity to run a controlled experiment on where they would have finished in SL and/or where Leigh would have finished in the second tier!

Interesting now, Toulouse need the travel restrictions to lift or swop home advantage for 2 ties - or are the rules going to be applied,treat the 2 missing games as defeats which would now put them joint top with fev
then the decision on playoff games venues arises - can Toulouse play at home if restrictions are lifted.
Do you honestly think that the RFL can be relied upon to make a sensible decision about this DD?
My bet is that, as usual, they’ll make something up that makes the problem worse.

Would make more sense to promote the league leaders and have a play off for the second spot. At least there would be a final that meant something.

Toulouse do not have to play at home to gain an advantage they are miles above the rest and taking points of them will not stop them gaining promotion. This season at least the best team in the league will get duly promoted.
