With 2 embarrassing defeats on the run, losing to Huddersfield and now Salford, and not making the playoffs, do you think Sam Burgess will still be in charge at Warrington next season?
He is a definitely 'a goner' if you listen to Wire fans.
And there was me looking forward to a bumper crowd in the SL in our derby game against Warrington and it now looks like they could be heading for the Championship!!!
Is Burgess committed to Warrington? I think he has said that he does intend to return to NRL at some time and wasn't in line for an NRL coaching job earlier this year. My view is that he will see out his contract at Warrington.
What this shows is that having a rich benefactor does not guarantee success
I do wonder whether the plug has been pulled on big money signings to some extent - Vaughan and Musgrove gone and Williams on his way out. They are still playing Tai, when he was reportedly offered to us earlier in the season and surely, Ratchford should be playing in the Championship.
I think 2026 could be Warrington's year!!
@frankg There is zero chance he is at Wire next season and very unlikely he returns to the NRL unless he is lucky to secure an assistant coach gig somewhere.
Burgess is a charlatan, ever since he arrived at Wire, he has publicly applied for every NRL coaching role, disrespecting his current employer.
There's summat on the Love Rugby League 'site, stating that he will be at the HJS next term.
As I've said before, I'm too tech-thick to move it on to here, but I'm sure there's plenty of you out there who'll manage it in just a couple of clicks!
Spelly.
They need a big rebuild, and I wouldn't trust him with it. I'd be sacking him at season end.
I think the other SL clubs will be happy if Warrington keep him!
I see Warrington are keeping him, I don’t know why, perhaps they would have had to have paid him a lot of money to let him go.
Another loss - what a shame !
