❓We’ve had a number of questions already...

✅ As it stands right now, our game against Batley is still on. We’ll keep all of you updated throughout the day.

🤞🏼 Hopefully see you later on this afternoon, and thank you for your support!

i think they should call it off myself, would be a terrible game and not suited for our team, small crowd and dangerous for supporters, at the moment the rain is going sideways lol.

Agree Glynn its atrocious out there. Not fair on us to ask us to go out in it BUT not fair on the players more so

We must expect this because we changed RL to Summer Rugby 🙃

More than anything, it's not fair on Batley having to travel from the dark side on a day when you wouldn't put your dog out. The sensible decision would be to postpone.

because we don’t have a bridge over water connecting the car park to the stadium that is at risk of flooding

there will be a mix of opinions but I’m happy to be going the game in this weather I’m sure some players may rather it be off but they probably also don’t want a rearranged midweek fixture after work

the match commissioner, ground safety officer and people at Widnes and Batley will all have their opinions on whether the game should go ahead

Batley could have travel problems though our plastic shouldn't suffer. Most cancelled games are waterlogged grass pitches.

A fixture backlog isn't good for part time teams.

Was really looking forward to our first home game but surely the sensible decision is to postpone in this weather.

To be fair the forecast for 3pm round here isn’t terrible if Batley are happy to travel over (I’m sure their concerns would have been taken into account before any decision) then we are perfectly fine to go ahead

28mph wind is only classed as a strong breeze

I live right opposite the car park and noticed the stewards picking up the bollards from the main road so i have doubts about the game going on?

👊🏼 The rain has stopped, the wind is barely felt inside the ground, & we’re ready to go at the DCBL Stadium.

⚫️⚪️ Thanks to everyone coming to get behind the lads this afternoon.
