Maybe Curriers name gets lost among so many legends of his era but he doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Not only was a productive centre for the best team in England (88-91), but he had incredible success in Aus.
I was recently watching the 89 grand final Canberra vs Balmain and throughout the game the commentators always referred to currier as balmains “biggest threat” and even alluding to him as been balmains best player. He got incredible respect from the Australian game yet he couldn’t hold down a GB spot with very little competition or he couldn’t impress a few morons on lowerhouse lane.
When we played Toronto last year, Mellor was getting appalling abuse, he wasn’t my favourite player but 6 years of service, he didn’t deserve what he got that day.
