I'm never party to a rumour apart from today. Been on the p*ss at a family do and there was a insider there. Told me (1) the players hated Kear's training, it was stone age (2) everyone loves the new coach (3) the new chief Hamilton has carte blanche at the club but everyone is on board with it, he's all about bang-for-buck, Craven and Owens will be gone this off-season, the club trust his recruitment.

Let's wait and see what happens.

I notice the club are recruiting a new head of media

Am I right in thinking that both Craven and Owens had input into this as part of their dual roles with the club?

In which case adds credence to the rumours they are both moving on

I believe Danny was doing a marketing course and Jack was commercial. When I made some enquiries regarding VikingsTV uploads it seems the bloke doing media has left the role 3 week ago. I was told why but not my place to say. You won't be surprised at the reason though.

How about Chris Atkin 31 years old for next year and get him on a few years contract and a job. A Widnes lad and need a number 6.

So a SL regular at a club doing well/improving is going to come to Widnes next year? :D

Love this board, so up & down week to week depending on the result.

1 week it's "We're heading to League 1/lets hope Whitehaven lose etc" and the next it's lets sign SL players.

I think the fact that we haven't re-signed any of our out of contract players (about two thirds of the squad) yet we've signed Josh Woods and Danny Langtree rumoured to have signed. It does sound like a clear out. Players have been free to talk to other clubs since the start of May so I suspect most have offers from other clubs. There's been a number of calls on here for the club to get rid of everyone so maybe the club are acting on that. Unless there's a huge increase in budget then we're going to struggle to find players of the same quality that we have already never mind better quality. The player pool is rather limited so we're most likely only going to pick up players from the relegated teams (could be why we're targeting Barrow players).

I always felt 80 to 90% need to be kept on with a few additions in key positions. Fozard and Farnworth need to retain.

To be honest mate, I'm not not sure there's that many on board to disagree. Plus, at the end of the day, everyone wanted a clear-out, which is what he seems to be doing.
