It's the 50th anniversary of the start of our Cup Kings era, all which led to 1989.

Perhaps there is something on the back burner' for the now, annual, 3rd kit to acknowledge Vinty's Boys?

It is right that the club celebrates its heritage - it's probably its strongest (only?) asset.

But at a time when you're trying to increase attendances and get a new generation of fan, I'm not sure how confusing the issue of home colours and not using the current club badge (for the second season running) is going to help that.

FWIW, I think the same when Super League clubs wear random kits at Magic Weekend. Likewise, Warrington have decided to wear a special kit to Vegas rather than celebrate their own colours and identity.

I wouldn't say that.They organised player reunions to commemorate both the 84 challenge cup and 89 world club challenge this year.40 years and 35 years anniversary.
