Result was on the cards, not good getting 60 put on you at any point but I expected it after last week.

Of deeper concern to me is the fact that we have finished with more losses than wins for the 3rd year running and even without the 12 point deduction in 2019 we would have finished 8th. I don't expect us to be winning the league but is it really too much to ask to finish 3rd-6th?

Yeah it is not much to ask to be a competitive team. 3rd to 6th definitely not much to ask because non of us think we are ready for Superleague anyway. Need more fans and a benefactor. 9th is not acceptable mate.

We can't compete with Fev. Like we won't be able to compete with Wakey next season. Why do people get their hopes up? It ain't happening. WE NEED TO BE FULL TIME. WE NEED A MONEY PERSON. Not to get in the play-off, but to be a play-off candidate. Fuck me, have a word with yourselves.

Spelly good luck tomorrow and to be honest if we kept the props that left and strengthened mid season playoffs was achievable. Poor recruiting and coaching by dinosaur Kear didn't help, and putting players out of position too. Craven and Gilmore out injured for spells and no consistent halfbacks all season. The board need to communicate, because some of the recruitment and decisions have been piss poor.

Spelly, whilst I agree with what you say there, we as a club should really expect more than to be tanked by fev as the rest of the league

why not just let the first 13 people with boots, to arrive at stadium and they are team

onwards and upwards

You're not the first team to be stuffed by Fev this term. They play quality football, and look certs to swap places with Wakey next season.

Prospects for you come '24? You'll have a new coach, and I'd be lying if I said I hope he does well. As the old saying goes "If you want loyalty, buy a dog!"

In the three games with us this year, you looked good at ours, had to do very little to win comfortably at the Bash, coz of our indiscipline, but at your gaff you were very poor, and we did it with more than a bit to spare, so........

Which of that trio was the "real" Widnes?

Before a ball was kicked I thought you'd easily make the play-offs, but that's not transpired, so it would appear that an (as of tomorrow) ex-Lion has quite a job to do.

It looks like more than one of our current squad will follow him to NP, so (if we stay up of course) I'm sure my fellow fans and I would love to remind them of the error of their ways when we next cross swords!

I don’t think we will make many big signings but maybe 1 or 2 decent signings with a squad of grafters is likely and with the new coach coming in hopefully he will get the best out of them

I’m glad the season is over.

Things will now settle down, we’ll forget how bad things are, miss Sunday afternoon games and by the end of November we’ve re-newed our season ticket again.

But it’s starting to wear thin. Mid-table Championship club and flat seasons with nothing to play for is not what I signed up to when I started watching this club.

I hold little hope of this changing next year, but will await promising signings and a show of ambition. Sad to see where this club is these days.

Didn’t expect anything other than a heavy defeat tonight but it confirms a 9th place finish with more losses than wins. Really should be better than this.
