It might be realistic but being 9 th in championship and giving average players 2 year deals as though we are signing cleary is not reading the fan base the disillusionment is showing esp after last night and if they are being realistic then why put a statement out saying we trying for sl next year

Nothing they do makes sense signings of the same players expecting different results madness

don't know why I'm so fed up this time I should be use to it now thinking it's time to save my money

Presumably our supporters longing for big signings are convinced that Sky are going to burst a blood vessel and pay out big time?

The game is on it's last legs if you step back and look! Fiddles conducted by Big Nige ( he taught Rule!) will see sad Odsal and Bradfraud at the top again with no cash for the Championship clubs.

Women's soccer is leading the way, darts coming good again and SL RL will be a thing of the past.

Maybe hard to stomach atm but the Board and AC might just have a more realistic view of the future!!!!!

If they do the above and keep promotion and relegation off the table I'm done with RL. I suggest we apply to join rugby union!

Widnes already have a Rugby Union club, Dan 😀 . They’re much better run; and own their own club house and grounds. They have assets Widnes RL could only dream of.

I hope they don't split in to regions. Other than Oldham and Salford it would be terrible for Widnes. No offence but Whitehaven, Workington, London, North Wales, Midlands, Swinton etc are either miles away, have no fans or both!

I would much rather play the likes of Featherstone and Halifax. They are closer than many of the mentioned teams, bring a few more fans and the fixtures are more recognisable and mean more.

So fourteen it is eh? It should see the end of loop fixtures, and I would imagine that "Magic" will be retained, meaning there'll still be twenty-seven rounds of fixtures, but...............

We're still no nearer knowing who the "newbies" will be, whether the Pinks will be there in the new format, or locking horns with the Chemics and the Lions in a regionalised tier two instead.

York? Toulouse? The 'Yeds? A certain team with a past its sell by date ground, and a chequered financial history?

Thats it then, 2 "handpicked" Championship clubs joining SL next year.

Unless Salford are demoted.Doubt it though,can't imagine three going up into SL from the second division.
