The alleged incident seemingly took place in the first half yet no complaint was made to the referee at the time, during the half time break but was left until sometime during the second half.

    Any ideas why?

I wonder if this complaint would have been made if it didn’t coincide with the social media blackout on the Friday.

Charged with a Grade F offence, and must attend the tribunal tomorrow.

Some people wanted him sacked from his club and banned from the game!

It would be interesting to know how they came up with 8 games and thus convicting him of actually saying it.  Will they release this?  It must have either been picked up on a mic or Clubb has admitted it.  I would assume the latter may lead to a more lenient ban (just 8 games) rather than much longer.

I would hope that Clubb also gets some education around the subject and the RFL come out with a strong stance that this is absolutely not welcome in our great game.

The RFL will have to educate every player in the game then, as what Clubb did was no different to the typical language used in international rugby.

What a sweeping statement.  If this happens elsewhere it will be dealt with accordingly – the higher the level the easier it is to convict due to cameras/mics etc.  Are things said on a rugby field that aren’t pleasant? – of course it is, but don’t tarnish everyone with the same brush by saying what Clubb said is no different to any other player.  Do you not think Clubb needs educating then?  Seems like you need it yourself.

And FYI – the RFL actually do educate every player, coach and official in the game with e-learning via their Our League login, this covers betting, code of conduct, anti-doping, concussion, social media presence and inclusion and diversity.  Seems like Clubb chose to ignore it.

So you think when England play Australia, there is not a single inflammatory remark made “you pommie b*****d” “you Aussie c***”, those insults are the exact same as the incident aforementioned but they won’t be reported nor will they be dealt with.
