I think suggesting Halifax had a scratch squad is pushing it a bit though they were missing a key player in Conor Robinson and a bit light in the prop department (albeit less so than us). All their first 13 apart from one winger were recognisable first teamers and they had a stronger bench than us on paper.

Springer was released by them and signed for Featherstone. They named virtually a 1-13 in the 17 man squad.</p>
Admittedly They must of had an off day as 3rd in the league and not lost since May. We only had 1 experienced prop in Clough, a hooker whose just signed from amateur and played very well I must say. 2 young lads at wing and full back, a young reserve player at starting prop, full back playing loose forwar and 2 centres on the bench
